Na šraufe paše, vendar noben ne ve, kako kompresijo boš dobil iz te kombinacije.

All bolts should line up so here you have chance to do your tests. The only
thing is that you have to only use 1700 head gasket.

Dmitri,

Do you say that the cylinder heads are not interchageable with the 1700
because of the compression ratio, or because the bolt patterns won't line
up?

The 1700 has a compression ratio of 9.3:1. I run that on 87 octane with no
troubles at all under any conditions. If I were to go to somethine over
10.5:1 I would have to switch to 91 octane. I'd like to take my compression
up to around 10.5:1 or maybe a touch higher. If I do start to experience
some knocking, I will just retard my timing with the "octane adjust
potentiometer".

Newer (read:very new) cars here with compression of 11.5:1 run on 87 octane.

Do you know if the pistons from the 1700 are the same as pistons from 1600?
(except for diameter?). Maybe is it the pistons that are the reason for the
jump in compression?

Does anyone know of other pistons that can be put into the 1700 engine for
higher compression.

Hello Sean,

Cylinder heads from 1200, 1300, 1500 and 1600 Rear Wheel Drive Lada or
Niva
are interchangeble. They are interchangeble between each other but are not
with 1700 engine. If you increase compression any further, your engine
will
require 98 octane petrol which is not available in Canada. The highest I
saw
in Canada was 94 and it is not available everywhere.

I was wondering if anyone knew what cylinder heads will fit the 2121(4)
1700cc block?

You see, I have this engine that needs a new cylinder head on account of
it
has 2 bent valves (from throwing it's timing chain tensioner). I want to
bump compression up to 11:1 or somewhere in that region. I've heard rumour
that the cylinder heads from the smaller displacement sedan engines
1100-1500cc will bolt straight up, camshaft and everything and kick up
compression thanks to smaller combustion chambers.

So if you can tell me what'll fit, and even better, if you have one lying
around to sell me, just let me know ;)
